Statement of Faith

What We Believe

Valor Christian Church affirms the historic Christian faith as summarized below. Everything we do in ministry and in leadership will align with this doctrinal foundation.

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21

Because God has spoken, we submit our lives to His Word above our own opinions or culture.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal in nature, attributes, and glory.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Because God is triune, we are made for relationship — with Him and with one another.

Creation and Marriage

We believe God created the universe and all life out of nothing by the power of His word, and that He created mankind — male and female — in His own image, distinct from the rest of creation and possessing inherent dignity and worth. We believe marriage is a covenant ordained by God between one man and one woman, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church.

Genesis 1:1, 26–27; 2:24; Colossians 1:16–17; Ephesians 5:31–32; Matthew 19:4–6

Because we are made in God's image, every human life has value from conception onward; and because marriage points to a greater reality, we uphold God's design for marriage and sexuality as a gift, not a constraint.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal, visible return.

John 1:1–14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11

Because Jesus is who He claimed to be, we stake our lives on Him alone.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells and empowers them for godly living and ministry.

John 16:8; Romans 8:9; Acts 1:8

Because the Spirit lives in every believer, we depend on Him daily — not our own strength.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. All who repent and believe in Jesus Christ are born again and declared righteous before God.

Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; John 3:16

Because salvation is a gift, we hold our identity in Christ — not our performance.

The Church

We believe in the universal Church, the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers. The local church is a gathering of baptized believers committed to worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism. This church is God's house.

Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 4:11–16

Because we belong to one another, we commit to the local church — not just attend it.

Ordinances

We observe two ordinances: Baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith, and the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of Christ's sacrifice.

Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

Because Christ commanded both, we practice them as acts of obedience and remembrance, not ritual.

Last Things

We believe in the personal, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal states of the redeemed and the lost.

John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18

Because eternity is real, we live today with urgency and hope.
